Netflix Passes on Saving Terra Nova
If you were hoping to see fledgling online TV folks Netflix pick up Fox’s canceled “Terra Nova”, well, I guess you can stop hoping now. The movie/TV streaming service has officially passed on the show when they and 20th Television were “unable to come to terms to revive the series.”
That means the producers of the pricey dinosaur show (which includes Steven Spielberg) will need to find a new home for the show, which barely escaped with its first season before being axed by Fox.
Remember the days when Steven Spielberg’s name actually meant something? Of course, nowadays ol Steven is selling everything from sci-fi TV sows to the musical “Smash” on NBC. I mean, “Smash”. WTF, Spielberg?
Of course, Spielberg is also supposedly a producer on TNT’s “Falling Skies”. And I say “supposedly”, because like J.J. Abrams, whose name is on a ton of shows nowadays, you have to wonder just how much daily creative input he actually has in these shows that gets sold with his stamp of approval.
In any case, maybe someone out there will save “Terra Nova”. At this point, that seems unlikely given the show’s hefty per-episode price tag.
