Jeff Renfroe’s The Colony Sets VOD and Theatrical Dates

Superman’s new pal Perry White saves us from cannibals.

Or at least he tries to, in Jeff Renfroe’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie “The Colony”. Which is the second snowed-in this year, counting Joon-ho Bong’s “Snowpiercer”. Except I don’t think “Snowpiercer” has cannibals, which is a crying shame. Can you imagine cannibals on that train? Awesome! Someone make a movie, stat!

Anyhoo. Image Entertainment has announced that Renfroe’s “The Colony” will debut on Ultra-VOD on August 22, 2013 and in-theaters on September 20, 2013 in Los Angeles, New York and major U.S. markets.

THE COLONY opens as an endless winter engulfs Earth. Humans struggle to survive in remote underground outposts. When Colony seven receives a distress call from a nearby settlement, Sam (Zegers) and Briggs (Fishburne) race through the snow on a dangerous rescue mission. What they find at the desolate base could mean mankind’s salvation—or its total annihilation. Terrifying discoveries will unfold that will change the rules of survival forever.

The film stars Laurence Fishburne, Bill Paxton and Kevin Zegers.
