Find Out How the World Ended in This Extended Animated Clip for Snowpiercer
It’s all the fault of global warming, as it turns out.
Check out a 4-minute-plus extended animated clip from Bong Ho-Jong’s “Snowpiercer” that shows us how the world came to an end. Basically, it’s global warming’s fault. And our fault for not stopping global warming. Or something.
Bottom line: the planet frozen. There. You happy now?
The film is set in a future where a runaway experiment to stop global warming has caused an ice age that killed nearly all life on the planet. The only survivors are the inhabitants of the ‘Snowpiercer’, a massive train that travels around the planet and is powered by a perpetual-motion engine. Over time a class system evolves on the train, with the elites inhabiting the front of the train and poor inhabiting the back of the train. Tired of their poor living conditions, the riders in the revolt, attempting to seize control of the engine, which the elites in the front consider sacred.
Starring Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Ed Harris, Tilda Swinton and Octavia Spencer, and hits theaters (hopefully) sometime this year.
