In another one of those endless “road to the Oscars” articles that you’re going to be deluged with on, well, the road the Ocars, there is this Reuters article that offers up a very brief mention of “The Hurt Locker” star Jeremy Renner, who has been nominated for a Best Actor in the movie, in talks to board Peter Berg’s big-screen adaptation of “Battleship”. If the idea of a movie based on the “You sunk my battleship!” game gives you the giggles, then you haven’t read what Berg has planned. It’s got aliens. It’s got an invasion. It’s got coolness. And now, potentially, it may have gotten Jeremy Renner.
This is very good news. I’ve always been a fan of Renner’s, and couldn’t be happier for his success.
