Whitley Strieber’s Nye Incidents Headed to Big Screen

Science fiction novelist and self-professed alien abductee Whitley Strieber is a tad preoccupied with aliens. You can’t blame the guy, since he claims to have been anal probed by short, rail-thin squinty-eyed dudes with huge heads, and that’s never a good experience. Or so I’ve been told. Strieber has taken his alien obsession to the comic books in “The Nye Incidents”, and now Dark Castle has snapped up the movie rights to the Devil’s Due graphic novel with an eye towards turning it into a feature film. If the comic book does become a movie, Dark Castle has tapped Todd Lincoln to direct.
According to Variety, Strieberg’s comic book is “inspired by true events” (um, yeah) about a medical examiner who is hunting the killer of alien abductees. Obviously to believe this is based on true events you would first have to believe that there are actually aliens who exist to stick cold metal objects up the rears of humans. Yeah.
Anyways, the idea behind the movie sounds cool. I’m guessing Men in Black types are involved. Joel Silver, Andrew Rona, Alex Heineman, and Daniel Alter will produce for Dark Castle. Would-be director Todd Lincoln has also been previously attached to a remake of “The Fly”.
