Warehouse 13 and Caprica Finds Their Leads
Two casting notices for fans of sci-fi TV today (not particularly promising sci-fi, alas), both for shows from the Sci Fi Channel. The first involves the two leads of the channel’s X-Files knock-off Warehouse 13, which has cast Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly as the Mulder and Scully, respectively, of the show. Meanwhile, Ron Moore’s Battlestar Galactica prequel, Caprica, has also landed its leading lady in Paula Malcomson.
The Hollywood Reporter has the casting breakdowns:
“Warehouse,” from UMS, revolves around two FBI agents — by-the-book Myka (Kelly) and rule-bender Peter (McClintock) — who, after saving the life of the U.S. president, are relocated to Warehouse 13, a location that houses supernatural objects the government has collected over the centuries. The duo’s assignment is to retrieve missing objects and investigate reports of new ones.
Paula Malcomson has been cast as the female lead in “Caprica,” Sci Fi’s prequel to “Battlestar Galactica.” Malcomson (“Deadwood”) will play Amanda, a surgeon who works as a double agent.
To be perfectly honest with you, I don’t have much faith for either show. The Caprica show, in particular, just sounds Godawful from everything I’ve heard, while the Warehouse 13 show is, well, probably about 10 years too late to cash in on the X-Files craze.
But maybe I’m wrong, and they’ll both turn out great…
