Writing duos are in vogue in Hollywood nowadays, and you don’t get any hotter than the duo of Michael Brandt and Derek Haas (“Wanted”, “3:10 to Yuma”), who can now add the upcoming sci-fi movie “The thirteenth Hour” to their resume. The duo have been hired by New Line Cinema to adapt Richard Doetsch’s upcoming novel for the big screen.
Here’s the plot for “The Thirteen Hour” (via):
Story follows a man accused of murdering his wife who gets to go back in time — in one-hour increments over 12 hours — with the chance to stop his wife’s killer.
Haas said the book “is a fast-paced thriller with a supernatural twist and characters who really pop.”
I’m a bit surprised by the “supernatural twist” aspect, which sort of makes it not really sci-fi. But hey, it’s got time travel, and you don’t get anymore sci-fi than time travel. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Michael De Luca will produce for New Line Cinema.
