Volunteers To Simulate Post Apocalyptic Survival In The Outpost

Now this is my kind of reality television. In an upcoming reality show on Discovery called “The Outpost”, 10 ordinary folks, with a normal populations cross section of skills, will simulate a post apocalyptic URBAN environment for 10 weeks for our considerable enjoyment. These folks will get no special equipment and there won’t be running water or electricity. They must scrape from what remains in the simulated urban wasteland for what they need to prevent cannibalism. For added fun, a ruthless gang of road warrior types will lurk outside their decaying factory home to irrate and maybe murder them (kidding). Survivor can bite me, this is the real deal.

Now I wonder, what other dangers besides starvation, dehydration and disease will they face? A post apocalyptic world is not complete without at least a simulation of giant mutant rats or shambling flesh munching zombies. We have the show’s trailer. Looks awesome. Thanks QuietEarth.
