Vin Diesel Updates His Facebook Page With Riddick News
Sci-Fi Movie News, The Chronicles of Riddick 2 Movie, The Chronicles of Riddick 3 Movie — By endymi0n on August 12, 2009Science Fiction movies that you can remember for more then a couple of years are rare. A movie will attract your attention as it is hyped, entertain you moderately at the theatre and then pass into the general cloud of Sci-Fi history. Maybe you pick up the DVD in 8 months or if it was a bomb, a couple. For me, “Pitch Black”, starring Vin Diesel, was different.
“Pitch Black” has stayed with me. My memory of that movie even survived a less than stellar sequel called “The Chronicles of Riddick”. Pitch Black tells the story of a very laid back and confident hard core criminal( Riddick) being transported along with other travelers to someplace far, far away. On the way they crash on a world not well designed for visitors.
The character of Riddick as portrayed by Vin Diesel is special. He deserves another chance. Luckily, movies starring Vin have been doing decently of late and that means that we have more Riddick on the way. The director of both Riddick films, David Twohy, has given us a few hints lately on development but now Vin himself has updated his Facebook page to say that there could be two movies on the way and discussions are now underway about whether to include the ultra violence.
From the update:
The Riddick discussion is about rating now…
Though Hollywood likes their PG Ratings, the next chapter in the COR series was always envisioned as an R rating, like Pitch Black…
One Studio exec suggested doing both “The Underverse” and “The Furyan”, (working titles) at the same time, allowing us an R rating for the first and a PG rating for the second.
The good news- David Twohy’s script comes in next month.
For me, that automatically means a letdown for the last film. Let the story be told as the characters would tell it. Riddick isn’t Mary Poppins. Thanks Aintitcool for the update.

Chronicles of Riddick was fantastic… at least the directors cut was. Then again, most people had already formed their own opinion before watching it and were let down by the original Theatrical release.
I watched it with none of that in mind and enjoyed it. I then especially liked the uncut version. Suppose, as a reviewer, you have to go along with the general population.
Can't wait till the 3rd one comes out!! Huge fan here, got the goggles and even drove myself to look like Riddick myself physically. Check me out. =)
