Yup, after a lot of start and stop, and start again, it appears David Twohy and Vin Diesel’s “Riddick” is actually, honest to goodness, getting made. Go figure. I know the film has been casting for a while (Katee Sackhoff, Jordi Molla, that Funk kid), but I gotta tell you, I wasn’t still sure it would actually happen. I mean, the film has so much potential to be badass, I just naturally assumed Hollywood would find a way to kill it. Cause, you know, that’s what Hollywood does.
But nope, it’s actually happening, and here’s your first look at Vin Diesel from the “Riddick” set, all dressed up in his Necromonger costume and ready to shank someone in the throat. Oh, Riddick, you’re so irrepressible.
The plot? Oh, it has Riddick being “betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.”
