Apparently when Vin Diesel talks, he likes to say “Haha”. I mean, I’ve never actually seen someone type “Haha” as often as Vin Diesel does, but I suppose the man does it in real life, so it naturally translate to his typing. Or at least, that’s what I surmised from these entries at his Facebook account, where Vin Diesel has not only been hinting at a “Chronicles of Riddick” sequel on the near horizon, but seems to actually be saying it’s going to happen, and soon.
As recently as November 6, Diesel wrote this:
The Riddick script is completed… great job DT.
DT is, of course, David Twohy, the guy who created the franchise, and has written/directed both “Pitch Black” and the first “Chronicles of Riddick”, and along with Diesel, is the driving force behind the franchise getting back to the big screen after the lackluster reception to the big-budgeted “Riddick”.
Then recently, Diesel added this entry:
The Riddick team is in New Zealand location scouting already… that’s exciting.
Indeed. If they’re already scouting locations, that certainly would seem to indicate that the movie has either been greenlit, or it’s in the process of getting there. No doubt the major box office draw of the most recent “Fast and Furious” helped to get “Riddick” where it is now.
And you thought you’d never see a Riddick movie. Ha! Or, actually, haha!
