Variety Reports Ryan Reynolds Is The Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds, a good old Canadian boy and hubby to the almost perfect Scarlet Johansson, has been cast as The Green Lantern. Ryan has shown as his Sci-Fi superhero bona fides as Deadpool in the horrible Wolverine movie I am trying now to forget. Other popular dudes in the mix for the wearing of the green ring were Justin Timberlake (?) and Bradley Cooper (Hangover). Martin Campbell, director of the great Casino Royale will be behind the camera.

For those not quite up to date on their superheroes, the Green Lantern is a member of a galactic team of planet protectors of high moral quality. When you are chosen for the team you get a wicked ring that can manifest anything you can think of basically. The lantern part is the battery for the ring. Ryan Reynolds is a cool guy and I think he’s the right choice. Thanks EW.
