Two More for Goyer’s Flash Forward
FlashForward TV Series, Sci-Fi TV News — By Nix on December 5, 2008
Wow, David Goyer’s Flash Forward is really moving forward (no pun intended) full steam now, especially with this news that Joseph Fiennes (the equally accomplished brother of Ralph Fiennes) is currently in negotiations to play the male lead on the show. If the T’s are crossed and the I’s dotted, Fiennes will be playing a formerly alcoholic FBI agent who must solve the mystery that grips the world after the population passes out for exactly 2 minutes and 17 seconds and sees a mysterious vision that changes their lives forever. John Cho, the new Sulu from J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot, will also be joining the cast as Fiennes’ FBI partner.
THR breaks down their characters:
The project centers on Mark Banford (Fiennes), an FBI agent who is patching up his life and his marriage after winning a long struggle with the bottle. Disturbed by the harrowing premonition during his blackout, he races to unravel the mystery, fearful of the murky future that might spell disaster for himself and his loved ones.
Cho will play Dominic Witten, a dedicated FBI agent who is Mark’s partner and friend. His experience while unconscious was an absolute blank, which doesn’t bode well for his own future as he realizes he might be murdered.
ABC is still looking at Flash Forward as a “companion” show to their mega hit Lost, currently moving into its fifth season. This should bode well for the show’s chances. If the network puts you behind one of their fan favorite genre shows, it means they have faith in you, or at least, they’ll do everything they can to push you.
Below: John Cho is ready for some “flashing” action, if you know what I mean.
