While I disagree with you about the new BSG, which is one of my favorite series, I do agree with you about SGU. The wholesome entertainment we have come to love in Stargate has been horribly perverted in this new version. I can’t stand the Dr. Rush character, and the constant bickering, underhandedness, cheating, etc. has put me off to the show. There are too many characters and I just don’t care about any of them. (I was actually quite emotional at the finale of SG1).
While I did half-watch the first season, out of respect for SG1 and SGA, I don’t plan on watching the second if it continues this way. I certainly hope we’ve seen the last of Rush.

if you go onto tv.com and check the plot for the 2nd last episode “Commander Kiva of the Lucian Alliance has managed to board the Destiny and has taken several of the crew hostage.” thats ep 19 so 13 episodes of drivel left and somthing may happen but not very exiciting rofl

dont bother with this crap, low budget rubbish, with no story just arguing and sex lol

I agree with all of you! I’m trying to watch the new episode tonight but here I am typing a review of it! I love sex scene’s as much as the next person but not in my sci fi shows!!! Take out the sex and give us some raith..

The only thing that makes this part of the Stargate franchise is the gate. I have watched 4 episodes to give it a chance, but my DVR no longer records this poorly concieved show. What a dog.

I’m a HUGE fun of SG1 and SGA and no one in the world have watched the 15 seasons three times like I did.
SGU is a big disaster !!! IT SUCKS BIG TIME !!! face it people !!! they think by using a gate, a couple of minutes with Dean Anderson and some sex scenes, they are going to make some money? Well sorry Wraith, but you got it all wrong dude!
I find the show sexist, boring and meaningless. they sent the creativity and the imagination out, and welcomed stupid writers and money craving bureaucrats !
I’m sorry for SG that it will end like they did with ST in the enterprise! and I’m sure it will not last 4 seasons like enterprise did !
I don’t watch SGU any more since ep 5, but here is some great shows airing nowadays:

The Charters in SG Universe are just crap …
The only character I think people could like in this show is the black angry Marine .
All the other characters have no personality and people will never grow to like them or care about what happens to them .
Lets hope the angry Marine goes postal on the ship and kills all the other crew and they cancel the show and bring back Atlantis .

Stargate Atlantis Universe has got to be the worst Stargate there is it doesn’t even seem closely related to the other series .The characters suck the story’s suck I gave it a chance and watched the first 5 episodes but hasn’t improved one bit .

I wish it was a mixture of ST Voyager with SG-1 with BSG, we would have a fully action show. Stargate Universe just sucks, no much happen and it been at less the 4th or 5th eps. Come on people, we need more action!

I don’t care if Sci-Fi has sex scenes, but they’re using them pointlessly. Soap opera use sex scenes better than the idiots writing this show…

Wooops! Did I suggest this show had writers? There is no possible way it could have writers. They must come up with the plot while smoking pot 30min before the show.

I hope someone in the SG franchise realizes what a mistake they’ve made and fires everyone involved with this pile of crap.

I think if nothing happens in the next couple of shows I will stop watching it as, 3-4 episodes and still nothing has happend, if it gets like BSG with its trippy cut scenes and stuff that doesnt make sense then I hope it crashes and burns, its not stargate, us stargate fans want more of the same not this crap

I’ve been keeping up with the first few episodes and I’ve got fairly polar opinions. On one hand, it truly does not feel like any of the previous Stargates and that’s really disappointing. I’ve been a fan forever and I truly hoped that the God-awful fact the Stargate Atlantis was over would be off-set by SG-U; that is far from the case, as SG-U does not even begin to fill the gaping hole that SG-A left in my heart.

But! That being said, if I stop for a moment and treat SG-U as a completely new series, I have to admit: I am one of those that will keep watching. I enjoy the hopelessness and chaos of each episode and the (somewhat predictable) “barely-made-it” endings. I’m a big fan of BSG (rest in peace *sob*), and so I bode well with the PG-13 sex scenes (come on! its not that bad!), and the dark overtones of SG-U.

Now, about Rush: very complex character. Maybe too complex for main-stream SG fans? Sure; but I personally enjoy flipping on my imagination-switch and delving into his possibilities. Does he know more than he’s saying? What is his plan? Can one man really be that selfish or is it a side effect of genius? etc. etc.

Finally, it would be completely awesome (and perfectly acceptable to me) if, in the next episode, a magical Ancient portal randomly appears in the middle of the ship for no logical reason and McKay and Ronin dramatically fall through, unable to ever leave Destiny again. =)

It’s terrible… Another space soap opera! It’s just like BSG.

Where are the battles? Where is the action?

If I wanted to watch human relationship drama, I wouldn’t be turning on the tv to escape everyday drama…. I’d just talk with the nearest woman. (hardy har)

I was very much looking forward to this series. I’m up to episode six and the show still makes me angry and ill. I will be giving up on it soon. =(
