Described as “Bourne” with aliens, “Archangels” will be set in the future, and will feature a hero who is part of an elite force that is tasked with tracking aliens who get past Earth’s defense system. I have no idea how that jives with the whole “Bourne” description, but don’t you mind. The “Bourne” films are currently hot in Hollywood right now, so of course every lazy producer will be comparing their action movie to it, and this is another one.
Still, the film doesn’t sound too bad. New Regency is currently developing “Archangels”, a spec script from newcomer Andrew Will, for “Tron: Legacy” director Joe Kosinski (below) to helm. Of course, Kosinksi also has “The Black Hole” remake in the works, and it seems unlikely he’ll be getting to “Archangels” anytime soon.
The film will be produced by the brothers Scott — Ridley and Tony — who at present time are producing a ton of films that will never get made. They should really focus more on doing films that will actually get made, but hey, I ain’t no fancy Hollywood director, so what do I know.
