Tron 2 Will be 3D, Scheduled for 2011

Fans of the 1980s sci-fi classic “Tron” probably already knows that Disney is planning a reboot/sequel to the original (it’s looking more like a sequel, actually), and now rumor is that the sequel has been scheduled for a 2011 release by Disney. Not only that, but the movie will also be filmed in 3-D.

The news comes to AICN from a scooper, so it may or may not be true. AICN gets stuff all the time, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the release date changes in the future, although I believe them on the 3-D aspect. “Tron” was made to be shown as 3-D.

Regardless if you liked the original or not, or if you’ve even seen the original, you should be plenty excited about a “Tron” sequel. Given the technology of today, compared to what they had to work with back then? I’ll be shocked if this thing doesn’t turn out stunning.
