A couple of “Transformers 3″ news for ya today, plus one exclusive clip from the upcoming “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” DVD release. After a lot of back and forth, Michael Bay has announced that “Transformers 3″ will be going into production soon for a July 2011 release, and that yes, Megan Fox will indeed be back.

Bay wrote this on his official message board:

Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I’m flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.

Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3.

Michael

So there you have it. TF3 is set for 2011, and Megan Fox, despite some very public insults traded between her and director Michael Bay and everyone else in-between, will indeed return for the sequel. It’s the smart move by Fox — “Transformers” can survive without her, but her career may not be able to survive without the franchise.

Also, we have an exclusive clip from the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”, which is hitting store shelves everywhere October 20, 2009. Check out their Facebook page here. Also, want to look like a robot? Head over here to find out how.

In the clip, the filmmakers talk about the mythology of the Transformers and about how they came up with Sam’s storyline for “Fallen”:

I really hope # 3 is better than #2. #1 was awesome. #2 while the overall story was good, there was far to much “potty” humor. It detracted from the movie. Seeing a guy in a thong, devistator with “balls” things like that. Then there were to many added robots to help the story. the pretendor that was after Spike, the ball bearing robot that merged and was paper thin.

Please keep the next movie closer to something real and serios and not an attempt at cheap humor and overload of characters

I agree with Jeff, lots of “potty” humor in it… Over done I thought. I like the constructacons, but it seemed like everything was rush rush and did not develop them any. Just kinda thrown in because that is what people wanted to see. I did not like Star Screams new persona. I thought it was better in the first one. He seemed too much of a “Yes Robot” type of guy to Megatron. But I did like the movie overall, and the action scenes were great. I hope it comes to IMAX again!

  • Rick says:

I should also say that in the first one even though Star Scream only had one line, it was the way he delivered it was better then all the lines he said in the 2nd.

have to agree with all here.
i was a tad dissapointed in sideswipes lack of lambo alt mode and original red colour but i could live with that cause his design is awesome. HATED HATED HATED “The Twins” – they were like stand ins for Jazz ¬_¬. Corse they could have just brought Jazz back with a shard of allspark but hey…
Starscream's character sucked abit – far too pathetic really, and it would have been nice to have had some explaination on the motorbike femmes, which are all actually one, which is Arcee, not chromia. Go figure.
    Also Jolt. Background please?
Loved the soundtrack based around New Divide, and loved the fight scene with Bumblebee and Ravage ;)
Dear god let TF3 be the best damn thing Michael Bay's ever made.

The potty humor was too much, and wheelie humping megan foxes leg, come on stupid humor that didn't work, and for a movie geared towards kids was just kind of stupid. With all of that said I really liked the second, I went and saw it twice and the second time liked it much more then the first

    # 2 was great and followed the original cartoon which i grew up with in the 80's but with a differant spin to it Optimus dies for a time but returns megatron comes back as a tank atleast his name wasnt changed to galvatron and someone Ie the fallen was going to destroy a planet like Unicron had tried to do so he could get energy. both movies so far have fallowed the original cartoon just updated. would love to see blaster in the next movie and the aerial bots as well Optimus's old time friend ultra magnus in some form or another

I sort of thought that #2 was more on like sam's realtionship and stuff. I was dissapointed with the story line and the new Transformers. New Transformers come and it's focused on something nobody cares about. Like, you didn't get any of the names, and those three cool motorcycle ones, i saw them like once in the movie. If you want to add new charecters, you need some info about them too. I just really hope #3 is better than #2.
