Thirteenth Hour is Memento with Time Travel

Now this is an idea for a movie I can get behind: time travel + Christopher Nolan’s “Memento”? Oh hell yeah! Why didn’t anyone think of this before? Well if you did, you’re screwed, because novelist Richard Doetsch is about to sell his novel “The Thirteenth Hour” for a nice princely sum at auction, and New Line Cinema has already snapped up the movie rights to turn it into a movie. And who can blame them? Check out the novel’s (and one presumes, the movie’s) plot (via Variety):

Described as a cross between “The Bourne Identity” and “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” tome follows a man accused of brutally murdering his wife who is given a chance to save her by going back in time, in one-hour increments. He puts together clues to figure out not only who killed her but why.

Sounds sweet, right? Marrying a thriller with time travel? Man, that sounds like one insanely good movie! I gotta get the book when it comes out, too.

Michael De Luca will produce the film version for New Line.

Below: One day, even clocks will want to time travel. That’s how much time travel rules.

So not in any way like the X-Files episode “Redrum” in which Joe Morton, accused of killing his wife, starts living out his days in reverse while also attempting to solve his wife’s murder?
