Fresh on the rotting heels of the strongish rumour that Jonny Lee Miller is to be cast as the lead in The Walking Dead’s pilot for AMC, home of super spiffy adult entertainment like Mad Men and Breaking Bad, comes the word that the Frank Darabont (The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption) produced effort has already been green lighted for 6 episodes. That’s before it films! Crazy!
And why wouldn’t you be confident about the story of survivors that cling together desperately against the murderous and putrefying embraces of their former neighbours? Gale Anne Hurd (the Terminator franchise) and Charles “Chic” Eglee (Dark Angel) are also on hand to produce. AMC has denied the rumour that Jonny Lee has been cast, but studios like to deny things. The Walking Dead already has an air date, we’ll see it during AMC’s October Fearfest. Always a good time.
