As you may have read, McG and the powers that be behind “Terminator: Salvation” have made some changes to the ending of Salvation due to some early story leaks. Although we really can’t be sure, this is the ending that was too painful for us to bear.
At the end of the film, the face of the dead (!!!) John Connors is grafted onto Sam Worthington’s character Marcus. Marcus is some kind of hybrid Terminator/Human or so I gather from the trailers etc. Various versions of this ending were considered, including having Marcus snuff out all the witnesses to this event before he assumed the role of John.
I don’t think we can be totally sure this ending isn’t the real deal. It sounds very cool actually. Here’s a quote from McG on the matter of dark endings.
“There was this leak that Connor dies and they put Connor’s face on top of the machine body of [half-man, half-machine] Marcus [Sam Worthington],” McG said. “Everybody went, ‘Booo! What’s that?’ That’s half of it. We had a jet-black ending. Connor dies, we’re in a room with all the people we care about. You take Connor’s likeness, you put it on the living machine of Marcus. He sits up now looking like Christian Bale, takes a gun, kills Kate, kills Kyle, kills Star, kills everybody, eyes flare red, the end.”
I guess we will see what evil end may befall Mr. Connor when Terminator: Salvation hits theatres next week. Thanks Scifiwire.
