The Office’s Rainn Wilson Joins Transformers 2

With a first name like “Rainn”, you gotta know that this guy’s parents grew up hippies and probably lived in communes in San Francisco somewhere. In any case, Rainn Wilson is one of the stars of NBC’s The Office, where he plays Dwight Schrute. I’ve never seen The Office, although I hear it’s funny, but everything I’ve seen about it doesn’t look all that funny. In fact, the show looks painfully unfunny, but hey, what do I know. Then again, it was funny enough to get Wilson a role in “Transformers 2″.

That would be Rainn Wilson, who will have a small role in “Transformers 2,” as some kind of professor, “The Office” star revealed exclusively to MTV News during a Sneak Peek Week screening of his new film “The Rocker.”

Information around the net would seem to indicate that Wilson’s role will be that of Professor Colan, Sam Witwicky’s physics professor at Princeton, who dresses in leather pants and thinks he’s the intellectual equal of Einstein. Comedy fodder, anyone?
