The New Avatar Trailer Arrives: Do You Still Care?
Avatar (2009) Movie, Sci-Fi Movie News, Sci-Fi Videos — By Nix on October 23, 2009
All that buzz, all that Comic Con gushing, it all went away when the first trailer for James Cameron’s “Avatar” landed online three months ago with quite possibly the biggest THUD in modern cinema. Let’s face it, it was kind of underwhelming. It was overly cartoony and obviously CG and nothing about it screamed “best movie of the year”. So has that changed with this second trailer? Judge for yourself.
A band of humans are pitted in a battle against an alien planet’s indigenous population for the planet’s rare natural resources. A human soldier, brought to spy on the aliens, decides to switch loyalties and fight with the aliens instead.
Starring Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, CCH Pounder, Stephen Lang, Joel Moore, Dileep Rao, Wes Studi, Laz Alonso, Peter Mensah, and directed by James Cameron.
The new trailer is playing in front of “Amelia” today, so the official trailer should be released online either later tonight or this weekend. Until then, here is the bootleg version. I’ll swap it with the official version when it hits.
The first thing you notice is that the new trailer concentrates more on the character of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and the plot, and less on the CG. Obviously there are still lots of CG action, since that’s a big part of the movie, but the focus is definitely more on the characters this time around.
Go to war December 18, 2009.
Update:
20th Century Fox has still not released the new trailer yet, but here’s an International version that is basically the same as the new trailer. Yahoo! Movies has now premiered the new trailer.

Looks cool actually — hope there are some surprises in the plot though
ok so what little was not spoilt in the first trailer gets spoilt in the 2nd, yep no point seeing the movie now, i hate it when the trailer shows every single plot, twist and the whole story arc
I agree with aromis…..some trailers spoil the whole plot and i curse the man who's responsible…..use you'r f@cking brain man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A saw the trailer of Quarantine for example ……i don't need to tell you it ruined the whole ending of the movie.I'm so pissed off with this ever returning peace of amateur trailer makers….they need too sue those guys.
Yeah the new trailer was awesome. The teaser… meh, but this one puts it up there for movie of the year id say. CANT WAIT.
The new trailer looks very good. By the way, those who have just watched the first trailer and judged this movie by it are obviously not familiar with the plot or what it took to make this movie. This is the most revolutionary movie since Titanic. James has not let us down yet. This movie is in 3D and the only way to experience it is in Imax 3D. I was lucky enought to watch a 20 minute preview in IMAX3D and can easily say that I was on planet Pandora. It was mind bending and deffinitelly changed the way I watch movies. I even took two people with me that know nothing about the tech behind it and the plot and were amazed. I can not describe my excitement to see the whole movie, so untill you see it, please dont judge it.
