According to Variety, “The Last Airbender” star Noah Ringer has joined the cast of Jon Favreau’s aliens vs. cowboys and indians movie “Cowboys and Aliens”. There haven’t been a whole lot of details about the movie, based on the comic book of same name, but it is known that Ringer will be joining a cast that already includes Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde.

The plot has traditional enemies American cowboys teaming up with a Native American tribe to fend off an invasion of the Wild West by a warring alien race. Craig will be playing the cowboy hero, Zeke Jackson, while Wilde will be playing his firebrand sidekick, Ella. No word on what role Ford is playing, but considering his age and the comic it’s based on, he could be a preacher or a double crossing town mayor type where the heroes end up while on the run from the aliens.

As for Ringer, the only kid character in the comic was a young Indian, so I suspect that’s who Ringer will be playing. Of course, he doesn’t look all that “Native American”, but I suppose that’s why they call it Hollywood, right?
