I always find it interesting how marketing guys tailor their promotions for a movie depending on which side of the pond the movie will play. Like the International poster for Iron Man 2 for instance. I thought that the first poster, released this week depicting Tony in armour back to back with War Machine, would have been plenty acceptable for all. Instead, for the International set, we get Tony brooding in the Iron without the helmet.
It’s maybe a more sensitive look. See Tony, trapped between two worlds. Is he the jet setting playboy genius or is he a selfless protector of 3rd world peasants? I guess we’ll have to wait for May of next year to find out which he decides he wants to be.
