The Forever War Might Finally Get Made … with Ridley Scott Directing

Finally! Man, I have been waiting forever for this … (see what I did there?)

Well, if Joe Haldeman’s “The Forever War” is finally going to be turned into a big-budget Hollywood studio movie, this is probably it. You don’t get any bigger than Ridley Scott in terms of directors, and add sci-fi to the movie genre, and this is a no-brainer for the studio.

The latest news is that Ridley Scott has finally gotten his mitts on “The Forever War”, a title he’s been pursuing for decades now. With the rights in his possession, Scott, along with studio Fox 2000, have assigned writing duties to D.W. Harper (who previously penned the Tom Cruise sci-fi war flick “All You Need is Kill”) to get cracking on the adaptation for Scott to direct.

So yeah, folks, if “The Forever War” doesn’t get made with Scott attached, it never will.

I know, I know, Scott recently directed the “could have been SO much better but for some reason wasn’t” sci-fi extravaganza that was “Prometheus”, but he also directed “Alien” and “Blade Runner”, so there.
