The Death of Dollhouse? FOX Doesn’t Appear Optimistic.
Dollhouse TV Series, Sci-Fi TV News — By Nix on October 22, 2009
Love it or hate it, any show that allows the gorgeous Eliza Dushku to parade around onscreen acting like a slut in service of “story” is a-okay in my book. But apparently not so much for most Americans, because Whedon’s “Dollhouse” continues to struggle in the overnight ratings, though seems to be making up for it with time-shifted numbers, i.e. DVR’s, online viewing, etc.
The latest bad news for “Dollhouse” comes from EW, who says that the FOX network apparently has so little faith in the show that it will be pulling Echo and company during the all-important November sweeps period, when networks typically run their strongest shows in order to elicit the most ratings, from which they set their ad rates.
Once November is gone, FOX will bring back “Dollhouse” in December for back-to-back episodes on its usual Friday night time slot. Unfortunately for “Dollhouse” fans, EW doesn’t think there will be anymore new episodes once the show finishes up its current 13-episode order.
Of course, that could all change if people actually started tuning in on Friday nights…
