That street sign was in the original viral advertising though, as well as the distorted upward look of the monster (from the Central Park scene) so there’s nothing new here other than the pointless filler video clips. I’m going to call a probable fake, but there is a slight possibility that it’s real… I do mean slight.

fake…the image of clover’s closeup before he gobbled up hudson was used…and very obviously so. and it’s poorly edited in. J.J.’s viral marketing isn’t that clumsy

I love how your two cents is essentially, ” I didn’t see what I wanted so I’m not happy”. hahahaha. JJ did some great storytelling, and its was epic.

for my 2 cents…Cloverfield was a steaming pile of sh*ta… reminicient of the snake oil salesmen of old, it was led in by a trialer that was, in itself, great, only to be followed by pure garbage…I was hoping for the death of the entire cast ny 20 minutes into this travesty…no, not everyone gets down on bended knee to worship St. JJ…a sequel to this crapola is nothing but good $$$ down the drain…

I couldn’t agree more with endymion’s assessment of Cloverfield. You felt as though you were involved in the story because you saw what they saw and knew only what they were made privy to. Very believable story. More so, even than with ‘Blair Witch’, because during that film, I felt like I was more of an observer than a participant.
Critics have theorized that this film was designed to play on our fears regarding the events of September 11. I agreed. The movies is intended to evoke a primal fear and stir our survival instincts. We are better able to suspend disbelief if the story feels real. It’s brilliant in that regard. We sypathize with the plight of the characters involved on a much deeper level. More movies should use this technique. I don’t believe that in doing so, the film makers trivialize the horror of what happened. They simply use those fears to tell a compelling story.
It is my sincere hope that a sequel comes out that isnb’t simply a rehashing of the original, but another piece of a much bigger story that will unfold as the stories are revealed.

I'm not sure if it's real or fake. Totally like JJ to throw something like this out there to be either seen or never even noticed. But I'm inclined to think it's real because 1) it makes sense that they would do a parallel story where the creature is seen somewhere else in the world, and 2) the street sign that flashes past in the end says Cloverfield on it, but is barely in there. I mean BARELY. Anyone trying to make a fake sequal teaser would make sure to be obvious about what they were teasing for. And this is very subtle. That's just my two cents.
