The Arrival of Wang is Here
Nix August 17, 2012“The Arrival of Wang” is a sci-fi movie from the Mannetti brothers that’s scheduled to play
Frightfest in London on Saturday 25th. (Forget about tickets. It’s sold out.) I guess you could go into this not knowing that it’s an alien movie, but one glance at the poster will pretty much ruin that. Or heck, the teaser trailer. The synopsis below certainly does a fine job of hiding it, though I’m not sure what the point is.
When Chinese-language interpreter Gaia (Francesca Cuttica) is offered a job that pays a fortune, she can’t believe her luck. This time, however, is going to be a little different. After being escorted to a secret location in Rome, she is locked inside a pitch-black room where she is asked to interpret the harsh interrogation of the eponymous ‘Wang’. Who is Wang and what does he want? Disturbed by the way the interrogation is conducted by the domineering Inspector Curti (Ennio Fantastichini, Loose Cannons), Gaia demands that the lights are switched on. Only upon seeing Wang, does Gaia realise why the job has come with so much mystery and subterfuge. And that she may be in way over her head.
The flick stars Ennio Fantastichini, Francesca Cuttica, Juliet Esey Joseph, and Li Yong.
If you can’t catch it at Frightfest, no worries, the film lands on VOD on August 27th, 2012 and on DVD on October 8th, 2012.
