Terminator 5: Sooner Rather Then Later According to McG

Sci-Fi Movie News, Terminator 5 (2011) Movie — By endymi0n on August 9, 2009

Joseph McGinty Nichol, otherwise known as McG, is talking Terminator 5 and also discussing the ah “issues” with the previous effort.

He speaks!

Obviously, Michael Bay had tremendous success following Transformers, in a very short window. Sometimes people like to take time off, but I’m excited about the next installation of the story, in the Terminator idea. So, for me, it’s terribly exciting to get back out there and show a different face of that idea, and perhaps get out of the apocalyptic world and into a contemporary world. I think the audience is going to be very excited about our way in.

As the faithful readers of The Cool well know, I am pretty into the whole post apocalyptic, robotic ruin, humans as hunted, sort of Sci-Fi productions. You would have thought that Terminator 4 would have wet my willie, so to speak. It did not. Not scary enough. Terminators were too generic and too numerous. No humour. Ridiculous ending. Mr. Worthington however, was awesome and obviously the rest of Hollywood agrees with me.

I’ve heard tales that the new Terminator well be set in present day London and will get back to T1 and T2 basics. The real problem with T4 was the script, not the direction or the actors. I’ll bite down on something leathery and give McG another shot. My suggestion is, keep it simple, use the wonderful London setting and 1 or 2 Terminators are all we need as long as they channel the Arnold way. Thanks io9.

The book ending was better then the movie ending, think the only reason they didn't go the way of the book is they didn't want Worthington to out shine Bale so they had to kill him off so he won't be in the next movie.
