Trailers for The Mutant Chronicles

Wow, what a CGI fest. I knew that Simon Hunter’s “The Mutant Chronicles” was going to be heavy on the CGI, but I have to admit, I didn’t think it would be THIS heavy with CGI. I don’t think they ever went outside a warehouse to shoot this thing. Mind you, not that that is necessarily a bad thing; they didn’t go outside for “Sin City”, either, and that turned out pretty good. Likewise with Zack Snyder’s “300″. But man, the CGI I’m seeing for “The Mutant Chronicles” seems to be struggling to not look completely cheesy. I guess we’ll have to see what the final product looks like.
In the film, 23rd century soldier Major Mitch Hunter (Thomas Jane) leads a small band of warriors into the Earth’s core to fight a bunch of mutant creatures known as the NecroMutants. Much slashing, slicing, and bloodletting ensue.
Starring Ron Perlman, Thomas Jane, John Malkovich, Devon Aoki, Anna Walton, Benno Fürmann, Sean Pertwee, Justin Rodgers Hall, Shauna Macdonald, and directed by Simon Hunter.

Here’s a Russian trailer for the movie. It’s not the same as the domestic one. In fact, it’s about 50 times better, and doesn’t make the film look like a bad “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” copycat. Damn, why do the Russians always get the best trailer?
