What should be canceled are the contracts of the highly paid people who make the decisions on the cancelations. (and sign-ons)

I miss The Dresden Files.

Caprica was another show wrecked by the writers, or at least by the people who told the writers what they wanted. Who thought a subplot, which became the main plot, about a group of radical religous terrorists was a good idea at this point in time. Aren’t we all pretty sick of that plot line just from the days regular newscasts? It contributed nothing to the story. Ditto for the even more ludicrous plot line about the Turon mafia. This is Scifi people, not the God Father. If there ever is another Stargate show, hope none of these writers or plot developers are hired.

SG1 was successful because most of its episodes were fun, were actually scifi and could be watched independently without needing to know what happened last week or even last month.

Sure the show Lost had a huge following because of its unique style. But you may have noticed that every show that has tried to borrow the convoluted story type has failed miserably. BSG was gritty and very popular until they shifted from being about the human/cylon war to being a metaphysical religious drug trip. They were just able to wrap it up before the ratings had a chance to die completely. But SGU tried to combine Lost’s type of story line with BGS’s grit. Essentially a lose/ lose combo and the series died.

I think SGU could have been great is they would have sent the writers back to the “As the Stomach Turns” club house and hired someone to write scifi scripts. But that boat has sailed. Time to wonder if scifi will ever show any scifi anymore….
