I'm 13 turning 14. What i think is thaat people say they understand, but sometimes what they think they understand isn't really what they're seeing. When i read The Hunger Game series, it wasn't the fighting and survival that made it more of an adult book. The first thing i noticed when i read the book is not that you survive or you give up and die a horrid death. Or that by the sounds of the characters the guys sound kinda hot. What i saw was that Katniss had a love so strong for her family and friends. And she was willing to risk everything in order to make everything right again. She had the oportunity to escape with Gale but because of her mother and Prim, she stayed behind because she knew they couldn't are for themselves enough to stay alive. And even when she wasn't IN love with Peeta, she still felt A love for him. She knew she couldn't let him die. She decided that if he couldn't stay alive then she would win the hunger games and then let everyone know what a hero he was. I think that the mixed love in this book isn't noticed as much as it should be by young adults. I'm 13 and i saw the gratness of this story. I loved and knew it so much that when i read it, i wasn't sitting in a library or on my bed reading, i was in the book falling in love with the characters right next to Katniss. I did a report on The Hunger Games and i got an A+ Best report of my life. And after i gave it, my teacher brought me off to the side and said " Rachel, You have a gift. You don't just look upon the surface of a book, but you look deep within it. You see what the people see, what they feel, and you're in your own world. You should be proud" And i am. I believe what she said. And i love that about me. I am a reader, and a writer.

Well I'm 15 and yes, the story line is a little .. brutal, but the book's not descriptive when the deaths actually happen! For godness sake! I think Twilight is more suited to an older audience than 'The Hunger Games'. Especially the last two books.

Come on, endymi0n. You obviously didn't read books as an early teen, if you did you would understand that this book is fine. If you want to complain about something, go complain about the price of petrol, or women's rights, or animal cruelty !! ... Just leave our books alone!!
Thanks.
