i saw surrogates & pandorum on cable channels in Spring 2010 and I loved them both. They were the best sci-fi / action movies i had seen in years. The problem with Surrogates was that i had seen an ads for it, but the trailers made it look stupid & sleazy, and nothing like the interesting and creative a movie it was. I didnt see any advertising for Pandorum, and that was a shame, because its an incredible thriller / sci-fi / action drama. I notice that its playing constantly on cable now (Fall 2010)...I hope it makes some money that way and gets noticed by more people.

I hope that this is not true ("this" being corporate no longer releasing Sci-Fi flix). Also, I have noticed a derth of advertising for any movies (aside from the "viral" adverts. seen on the net). That being said, I also feel Sci/Fi with a "positive" message would have better box office returns. (Ie: Star Trek Franchise, X-Men, etc.)
