MGM will be or is already on sale. If they get purchased we have to hope that who ever is in charge then, will have at least two eyes and a brain to see whats wrong here. I hope the whole bunch of producers and writers will get fired in favor of somebody with a new budget and a good idea. What ever they created in the past and how much i thought how cool they are, they made it pretty obvious with the cast-changes on atlantis, their disrespect for the actors and fans, they don't care at all about their audience. They care about their income and thats it.

A potentional weakness if you are in the entertainment-business. because you can get fired for not having an audience :)

OHHHH i can't handle so much pain. oucht ououahaha outch...
This is the worst scifi-tv to date.

even scifi which is just plain bad is entertaining because you can laugh your ass of. You need to think of the people shooting and producing it and it's funny that way.

BUT if it's bad scifi because it's made of 60% dawson's creek and 20% jerry springer + 20% blendet mix-crap.... well then it's just plain bad not not watchable.

Jorian, the chances for an Atlantis movie are slim to none. The guys in charge spent all their money on SGU and they have nothing left for Atlantis. They don't even talk with the actors anymore. It's very sad. :(

I have to agree with the sentiment of most of the people here. It seems like they figure the hard-core SG fans will follow anything and they're trying to add the daytime drama crowd. Even BSG was better than this. At least they were pre-occupied with something important. The most profound issue facing the folks on SGU is what's for dinner? The one thing I like about Rush is he has some sense of the awe of being on the ship. I want to like this series, I really do. They're just making it so darned hard!

Now the best we can do is to buy anything Atlantis related that comes out, in triple-pack, to revive atleast that in movies and show the writers how we all despite SGU

Way, way (way) [way] {way} more cool stuff needs to happen before I stop fast-forwarding past the inane conversations. I think the Stargate Brass forgot who populates their "Universe". We do not need to be told that the Hoth system is from Empire Strikes Back. Eli doesn't need to explain this. We knew the Sun was going to repower the ship. It was not a shock. Evil HR Lady (EHRL) needs to SHUT UP. Her character's pettiness, even with this week's odd-but-tasteful Lesbianic twist, is grating and shrill. When the camera shows Eli, they need to pull back about 8 feet, because his gigantic melon fills the screen and it's hard to concentrate on what he's saying or where he is in the ship. Speaking of the ship, it should be the main character, not some backdrop for a second-rate mash up that is comprised of the WORST PARTS of BSG and DS9. Oh, you want to talk politics? You want to dive into the head of a mad man as he runs out of Anti-psychotics? You want to have moral reckonings as you discover you have an 8 year old son and be "deep & brooding"? Yeah, how 'bout we see if we can't fit that in between 'splosions? Where in the hell did they get the matching gym outfits? They figured out the 9th chevron and escaped into it last second before the planet explodes, and someone thought "Oh, in case we're trapped on an Ancient Ship, we should have matching workout gear." LAME. I think a 90 year old man is in charge of this show, because anybody younger would find my entertain watching paint dry. Everybody except Col. Young, Eli, Matt, Tamara, Chloe and psycho bald guy (I like him, I don't know why) need to be PUT OUT AN AIRLOCK. They should break the communication stone machine for a few episodes too, because it's a horribly lazy plot contrivance, it's been done before with better success because they (the two previous shows) didn't use them every five freakin' seconds. I'm supposed to care Telford is boinking Young's chunky Spouse pretending he's Young vis a vis the communication crystals? Really? Screw you, Mr. Writers, BLOW SOMETHING UP. Grow a sack and think of something that hasn't been done in the other two shows, and/or get your wraith, Goa'uld, Borg, etc...on and let's get down to it. I want to care. I want this to work. Hire Neil DeGrasse Tyson to think of something cool if you have to. Just please hurry and stop green-lighting that involve Dr. Rush not dying, because he's quite simply the most uninspiring, unpleasant, spineless character I've encountered. I like Rodney McKay more than Rush, and I freakin' HATED Rodney. I think the reason I'm so upset is because this show has potential. The wrong people are in charge and the writers are clearly not sci-fi fans or they'd know this is crap. As a final note: Blow stuff up + Aliens - Dr. Rush - Stones - most of the crew + Blow MORE stuff up = I'll watch.

LoL Bret, I`m starting to feel the same way about the series. Ditch all the soapy water and get on with the science, stagate, aliens, spaceships, phazers, teleports, alien foods. The stone are a real pain and hopefully will soon have flat batteries.

O boy! A NEW SHINY CHAIR! The series sucks, I’m done. I’ll just read what happens, the re-caps given here are more entertaining than the show. Please give a heads up when the ship explodes

I accept your point. It's a different situation. Rush is a on a quest for something on the Destiny that can only be completed through Ancients tech. Rush doesn't seem like a coward to me. Sitting in the chair is the choice I think his character would make for political and practical reasons.

Rush wouldn't sit on the chair for a simple reason - he'd die within a few days. In SG-1, each time O'Neill used one of the devices, the information overwhelmed him, he started speaking only Ancient and building things that he didn't understand. Basically, he was doing, but without comprehending. Maybe Rush would understand better, maybe not. And true, each time, O'Neill managed to subconsciously get what they needed to either save the galaxy or save himself.
But that wouldn't be a guarantee here. Rush could die in vain. I think it's completely WITHIN character for him not to risk his life, especially if he's the most adept at the Ancient language - he'd be suitable to better translate what the one in the chair is saying. So, he'd understand, but without risking his life.
