Let’s face it, if you don’t care for the SyFy Channel’s “Stargate: Universe” you’re probably not going to change your mind by the time the first season finale rolls around. But for those who are still hanging on, and for those who have already gone “all in” with the show, the cast is making some pretty bold predictions about fan reaction to the finale.
Co-star David Blue (nerdy Eli) told Airlock Alpha this about the two-part season finale:
“It’s hard. More than cruel, or heartless, I’m gonna say it’s hard or tough… I’m pretty sure the fans are going to kill us, because I can’t believe we left it there… It’s so beautiful and heartbreaking and terrifying and you just don’t know what is going to happen. And I think that makes for good television. At the same time, it’s hard to go into that as a fan because then you are strapping yourself in for a wait until the next part. But I definitely think people are going to like it. It’ll be hard to watch but it doesn’t mean it’s not memorable, amazing and fun.”
His co-star Brian J. Smith (Lt. Scott) was not quite as diplomatic, telling SciFiWire that when he read the script for the finale, he got “upset”, and calls a pivotal moment in the episode “so cruel and so wrong”.
Here’s a mostly pointless interview with Smith, where you learn about his dog and other inane subjects. Maybe Smith can demand that the writers make his character actually interesting in the next season? Just a thought.
