I have just finished watching the SGA Season 4-5 in two days and i had no idea that they were canceling SGA, so when i saw “enemy at the gate” i was under the impression that there will be at least another 2 seasons.

Now I feel like a SGA “Junkie” with no fix… Man what a bumber. I just hope they do bring back SGA cause as Raven mentioned there so many spin offs they can make with Atlantis.

BRING BACK SGA PLEASE!!!

Well The cost seem to be more to them than the harcore Followers.
I have not missed an episode since sg-1 First aired. Its a Shame! It Truly is! Eureka is Great, But Stargate Beats it out of the water! But what do we know, We just the diehard fans! Right?

Big fan. Just watched the final episode. What a great ending to start another season on. If the series were to end, it would be great to end it with earth finally strong and in charge. The people of earth could finally be told, and it could end with a bright future for earth finally. Stargate has always been about the growth of earth, and the series could end when that plot (ie earth) has reached its maturity.

I am gutted that sga is over. This has been my fav sci fi show… Ever.
The characters were perfect and the humour of the show was spot on. I want 2 more seasons.. Now
If this is to be the last ep at least they went out in style.. this was a perfect end to a perfect show..

I as a young veiwer (19) loved stargate atlantis, by watching atlantis i also started watching sg1(didnt like it as much…). I have no clue as to why this awsome series is ending! The character in this show were so memorable like Rodney and sheppard and my absolute fav was Ronon! what a waste honestly!! I really, truly hope that someone has enough sense to keep this show going or at least do some sort of a spin off with the same characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sucks to see Atlantis go, such a waste. Personally I hated SG1 but I loved Atlantis and Im sorry to see it go. This reminds me of when Blink 182 broke up, if they ever get back then I think Atlantis should be brought back since they were the greatest things around. Wholeheartedly agree with your ‘kiddy’ comment. Here in the UK we had an exciting series called ‘Spooks’. Nothing to do with the ghost variety I might add (all MI5 stuff). They took it off screen and replaced it with a new ‘Spooks Code 9′ series. None of the characters from the original were used and were replaced with a whole new bunch of ‘out of college actors’…..no disrespect of course. I (and my other half) just could not warm to the series and we gave up after a few episodes with total disappointment. The series obviously failed and was never aired again, then some months later the original ‘Spooks’ returned with even stronger character and action packed episodes…………..brill…. may be there could be hope for Atlantis to return if Universe is a flop???????

Hi Legs,

Yes I also love everything Stargate, but with some sense. I would give a try with universe, but considering the way they treated atlantis, I will no waste my time to get in love with a series and get dumped like that. This universe will be some kind of startrek voyager with 90102…They are going really kiddy with the actors. I am not sure what audience they are going for it. I am over 25 for sure. Please don’t get me wrong..my niece is 16 and she loves atlantis, but because the actors gave life to the show. It is too risky indeed to jeopard the franchise like that. I hope they can swallow their mistake.

This has come as a bit of a shock and retiring the Atlantis team is such a waste. Personally I thought the series was getting stronger with every episode…. sadly all things good come to an end, but maybe not as abruptly as this. Anyway, like any new series you have to get a feel for the new characters. I’ll give Stargate Universe a go purely because I too thoroughly enjoy anything with Stargate! If no good then shame on you for dropping Atlantis.

I hate to see this show go. This was my Friday nights for some time. Stargate Universe doesn’t seem interesting or should I say Stargate Voyager.

As a hard core SG1 fan, I had too many issues with Atlantis. Just not the same feel to it. I liked the series, but I found too many episodes were flat and dull. And many lacked that spark SG1 had for excitement. The writers of Atlantis were not the same ones from SG1, that much was apparent with regard to Carter’s character in the Atlantis series. Carter was a strong woman AND a leader in the SG1 series. Atlantis, she was neither strong nor leader like. The episode “trio” where she, rodney and kellar were trapped in that underground cavern is an example of Carter not being her old self. Indecisive and insecure come to mind. Her experiences with the replicators in SG1 were completely disregarded in Atlantis series. Also, the episode “doppelganger” where Sheppard is duplicated by a crystal, Carter did not ‘remember’ how to solve that one from her experiences with the same kind of entity that Jack O’Neil encountered in SG1. Star Trek and its many spin offs, the writers tried their best to be consistent with regard to already established story lines and histories within the trek universe. Not so thus far with the gate universe.

The show lacked focus and too many stories were just dull, and did nothing to aid the series progression. This season alone, I barely look for it on my TV guide. Unlike SG1, where I made a point of making sure I had myself parked to watch the show every week a new episode came along, Atlantis just doesn’t have that kind of appeal because of what I already outlined. Not to mention, Teyla’s character really bombed these past couple seasons since baby came along. I wasn’t crazy about her character to begin with, she barely contributes anything to the ongoing story. Ronin has had more contribution relatively. Crap, I could go on and on.

Fire the writers of this series, rehire the writers of SG1 and create a spinoff from there.

Spoilers applenty Enemy at the gate was incredible just saw it 2 weeks early maybe 3 anyway the wraith made a mistake going for earth that ZPM powered super hive could have taken out an armadda of enemy hives without so much as a single scratch I mean jeez they laid waste to are ships Daedalus,appollo,senzuu,but to find more ZPM’s and watch Atlantis use the wormhole drive and in a mear instant their in orbit over earth going toe to toe with the superhive is amazing and I love the end out on the balcony overlooking SanFransisco harbor and the Golden Gate. Possibly best Atlantis episode ever.

I agree with you guys 100%. I love sci-fi movies, but I confess I was only watching stargate Atlantis. I will really miss that show. I really don’t understand why are they cancelling something with so many fans around. In this dificult times USA is passing by, I think it is really not smart to change good business to risky business. Yes, lets not forget Star Trek Enterprise…what a fiasco… We trekkers watched because we really need it :D But I am not sure about the new Stargate Universe. The idea looks good, it could be implemented with Atlantis, instead wasting money with new actors (the main actor doens’t fit my taste…). If the problem is money, why are they risking with this? I will watch Atlantis repeats until my DVDs need to be replaced. Fanfics will be increased. I am so upset about that… There was so much more to talk about, so much more to do. The series was getting even better with time… I don’t understand, I really dont. Sorry about that guys, I hope the producers do some reasearch with the audience before doing this madness…

Stargate Universe does not need a new idea or cast. If you were going to travel around the universe setting up Stargates or exploring you would use Atlantis with three zpms, maybe even extending Atlantis to support Flora and Forna in a ‘Silent Running’ fashion. Possibly the writers and producers are bored with this approach wanting to work on movies with a bigger budget, let’s face it due to cost constraints the formula for all these Sci-Fi series means that for every good episode with CGI/SFX you have to put up with four or five mundane ones.

I for one will wait to see if Stargate Universe offers an original and engaging storylines, better character development and special effects and the producers should not forget the disaster that was Star Trek Enterprise.

SGA charactors on the Ancient ship is the best idea I’ve heard in a long time. But, unfortunately, they’re not young enough. I guess early and mid thirties is the new forties & fifties.
The main reason I have decided to finish with the franchise at the end of SGA is, even if the new show is great and gathers a huge fan base, TPTB will pull the same crap with it that they did with SGA. “ah ha! this show is doing great. Lets cancel it and pacify the fans with a couple of double episode DVD ‘movies’..”

I think that the lost accient ship is a good idea, but instead of having a new show, use the atlantis members finding the ship. have rodney discovering what the ninth cheveron leads to and then john,teyla, ronon, and rodney, possibly even jennifer going to the ship

it would keep the fans happy and even bring on new ones

i have just watched the final 2 episode that have appeared all over the internet episode 19 is about john shepard on an alternate earth as a detective big flop for episode 19

episode 20 finds atlantis flying to earth on 3 zpm modules provided by todd ,to save earth from a new raith hive with a zpm on board , atlantis and earth survive but atlantis is left stranded on earth

why they had to axe this show i will never understand then next series with the scottish actor from 28days later as lead role is definately going to be a flop
