The not-entirely-up-to-snuff quality of the three “Star Wars” prequels notwithstanding, George Lucas’ “Star Wars” saga was made for a format like Blu-ray, and now according to the Skywalker Ranch head honcho himself, all six movies in the franchise will be arriving on Blu-ray sometime in 2011.
Lucas made the announcement himself at the Star Wars Celebration V over the weekend in Orlando. Included in the Blu-ray format? The usual documentaries and behind-the-scenes featurettes, but also “interviews, retrospectives and never-before-seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives.”

What makes the “Jedi” deleted clip so remarkable is that it made it all the way to postproduction before it was cut, so it is a rare example of a cut scene with completed visual effects and music.
And if you can’t wait for the Blu-ray, here’s the scene in question (get it now before it’s removed):
