Simon Hunter’s adaptation of the board game “The Mutant Chronicles”, described as a “steampunk science fiction and horror film” began over a year ago, but the production has been very quiet for the longest time. The official site was also put up, but aside from a couple of production diary videos on the teaser that they did before the actual start of movie production, there hasn’t been a whole lot there. Recently, a new Russian poster for the movie has arrived online, and we’ve decided to do a preview of the movie.
The plot:
Set in the distant future when the Earth is no longer inhabitable and the Megacorporations have banded together to control the remaining planets and their moons. When an alien force of undead Necromutants known as the Dark Legion prepares to attack the inhabited Mars, the Megacorporations assemble a band of warriors to destroy the warlord Alakhai. Together they return to Earth, infiltrate Alakhai’s gothic Citadel, and attempt to reduce it to rubble.
Starring Ron Perlman, Thomas Jane, John Malkovich, Devon Aoki, Benno Fürmann, Anna Walton, and Sean Pertwee, and directed by Simon Hunter.
The film is scheduled for a 2008 release, but so far no firm release date.
