Hello! Looks like peace has been restored as SGU is no more.

Thanks Syfy channel for making a sober decision, and hopefully the lesson has been learned and a series with so much negativity, deliberately hateful characters, and boring scripts (at best) will not be conceived again!

SGU’s failure, in my opinion was due to the fact that the pilot wasn’t screened to mature stargate fans. You know, the fans that have money, not the teens that can’t decide on buying bread, cable bill, or a stargate dvd.

If the pilot was screened properly, then SGU would have seen a complete re-write before airing.

The lesson learned in this expensive mistake called SGU, is that you can’t change an Sci-Fi, Action-Adventure brand like Stargate into something that fans can’t recognize.

I hope this is a lesson learned to producers, directors, executives and writters that you can’t change a brand without proper market research.

Just because some producer says something will work, doesn’t mean that it will.

Please, next time, use a focus group of brand fans, and one of non-fans. Make sure that the existing fans like your changes, and THEN see if the non-fans will be reeled-in by your new changes.

It falls under the technical term: DUH!

Well looks like despite ruining the Stargate franchise, Mr. Mallozzi is still going to work on the sequel to the campy/cult classic Battlefield Earth. Rumour has it that he’ll be working closely with John Travolta.

Yeah I know the first one stunk, but he’s still going to make a fortune. People will still go to theaters to watch it .. even it’s as bad as the first one.

… and JM is still going to make a ton of cash for his effort.

Shows us that dumb teenie emo shows like SGU are the new order.

SGU is boring, inane and stupid the shows two leads Dr Rush and Long are two of the worst actors ever kill them off and the show might have a chance but then again probably not because we get shoddy writing soap opera like plots and substandard performances. some one please shoot these idiots who make this show and put it out of our misery

Right the fans are idiots. I think we knew all along that SG1 and Atlantis was one dimensional writing. I mean Ronan, Tela, and some the SG-1 characters were just cardboard cutouts. But, sometimes you want to watch super heroes even though you know they don’t exist like that in reality. The thing is from then till now in SGU writing good characters and drama has never been SG’s strong point. What this show comes across is a thin and fake knockoff of Battlestar Galactica. He thinks the shows problem is that his “stupid” fans don’t get it. Oh but, we do! Once you cut the action scenes out and true writing ability is truly seen the fans will never like this cheap remake of BSG. What makes one think that just jumping to another show will help script writing ability?
