I hear they are adapting George RR Martin's "A song of ice and fire" into a series. This would also be a good idea for the Hyperion saga. Nowadays all the talent and creativity seems to be in television rather than the movie world. I'm thinking about "sopranos", "true blood", "dexter" and many other tv shows that prove that taking your time to tell a compelling story instead off rushing everything into a two or three hour movie (and covering up the plot holes with explosions and cgi special effects), is much more appreciated be the modern public.

hmmm, i am very curious as to see how they are going to pull this off, the Hyperion Cantos being a very complex story. i am very excited to see this in theaters, but i'm afraid it's just not going to be nearly as good as the books themselves. i know people have said the same thing about 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy, and Peter Jackson pulled it off, but Hyperion? i seriously doubt it can match the depth and underlaying ideas displayed in the book.
but that's just me, hoping Hollywood proves me wrong...

RS
