They’re baaaaaaaaack. That’s right, those creepy metal crawlers that can burrow in the ground and assume human form are back for some more human flesh ripping. The victims this time: survivors and Marine types trapped on a desert alien planet. Okay, so there doesn’t seem to be any appearances by those really, really creepy “kid screamers” that just totally creeped me out to no end in the first “Screamers”, which is a real shame, but it does have the always great Lance Henriksen and the gorgeous Gina Holden of Flash Gordon fame.

Here’s the first trailer for “Screamers 2: The Hunting”, which, well, looks kind of cheap and very Sci Fi Channel Original Movie-ish, which in case you were wondering, is NOT a good thing.

A group of humans arrive on Sirius 6-B to investigate an SOS signal sent out from the planet, which has been supposedly deserted since the destruction of the man-made weapons known as “screamers.” Once the squad arrives, they find a group of human survivors eking out an existence in an old military outpost, but more important, they discover that the threat of the screamers has become even more insidious, now that they’re able to morph into human form.

Starring Gina Holden, Lance Henriksen, Greg Bryk, Tim Rozon, Stephen Amell, Christopher Redman, Holly O’Brien, Stephen Patrick Dunn, Sarah Small, Lynley Hall, and directed by Sheldon Wilson.
