Sci Fi Greenlights Second Season of Sanctuary

The good thing about being an off-network TV show is that people tend to give you second and in some cases, even third chances. Now I don’t know if the new Amanda Tapping show Sanctuary has managed to maintain its high ratings from its premiere episode, but the Sci Fi Channel has enough faith in it that it’s greenlighted a second season for the show, okaying 13 new episodes for next year. I haven’t been keeping up with Sanctuary since its premiere, but I’ve been meaning to add it to my list of DVR’ed shows.

Sci Fi Wire has the good news:

The channel gave a green light to 13 new hours. Sanctuary is slated to resume production in Vancouver, Canada, early next year for a 2009 premiere.

More than 3 million viewers tuned in to the premiere of Sanctuary on Oct. 3, making it the highest-rated original series premiere since Eureka debuted in July 2006.

Sanctuary stars Tapping as Dr. Helen Magnus, a brilliant scientist who holds the secrets of a clandestine population: a group of strange and sometimes terrifying beings that hide among humans.

Yah, another full season of Amanda Tapping. That’s always a good thing.

Below: Sanctuary’s hot — er, I mean, deadly gun.

One of my top 3 favs cant wait for season 2 premier. Gotta have the rest of all the parts of the stories.

Screw the DVR. Just jump over to HULU.com and get yourself caught up. They post the full episodes eight days after they air. That is, unless you have dial-up.

Along with Fringe and Burn Notice, this one's in my top five of shows to watch. The back stories they're finally getting around to developing are a little hackneyed, but full of potential if they can get a few more good writers involved.

No way- original, although some of the eps could do with being two parters...

Not fair to make comparisons to the above shows.............

i'd like to show at the begining, i think it's still good but; after true blood, fringe and terminator: sarah connor chronicles it's a little bit boring.
