Let’s face it, science fiction movies don’t open every week at the box office. You’ll be lucky to get two in a month in some cases. So I thought I’d do a weekly “Sci-Fi at the Movies” column every Friday when there is a sci-fi or fantasy movie opening in the week. We’ll start out with the week of March 13, 2009, which sees only one sci-fi release, The Rock’s “Race to Witch Mountain”.

A taxi driver gets more than get bargained for when he picks up two teen runaways. Not only does the pair possess supernatural powers, but they’re also trying desperately to escape people who have made them their targets.
