Rumor: NBC To Renew Chuck for Third Season

According to Nikki Finke over at industry insider blog Deadline Hollywood Daily, the Powers That Be at the network have told her that NBC plans to renew their low-rated sci-fi/fantasy show Chuck for a third season. The official announcement is expected to come on Monday, but for now, that’s the word on the street.

That’s what sources are telling me. Expect a major renewals announcement from NBC on Monday (unless the bosses decide to mess with our heads).

Take note of the “unless the bosses decide to mess with our heads” at the end. That’s clearly for the sake of CYA — just in case DHD got it wrong, they can always say, well, we told ya we weren’t sure.

But hey, if you’re a Chuck fan, you should be happy. The show looked like it was on its way to cancellation just last week.

Update: 5/4/09 NBC announced a partial list of their schedule today, but neglected to mention whether Chuck had been renewed or canceled.
