Roland Emmerich really likes to blow stuff up. This is a very good thing. There’s nothing more cathartic than watching a rolling building or a tidal wave power smushing a major city. Disaster movies are just a mountain of feel good. In the upcoming 2012 from Roland Emmerich (Godzilla, Independence Day,etc) , the fur is really going to fly. In earlier trailers for this film there is a highly serious tone. In the trailer below, which you must see, I mean must see, the tone is appropriate for the genre. Less Wagner, more Ren and Stimpy.
