I’m a fan of Robert Rodriguez, but man, the guy gets involved in more movies that never sees the light of day than Ridley Scott. The latest Rodriguez “talked up movie that will probably never get made” is “Nerverackers”, Rodriguez’s futuristic actioner that was originally slated for an April 16, 2010 release by Dimensions Films, has now been taken off the slate completely.
According to Bloody-Disgusting, the removal of “Nerverackers” from the Dimensions Films schedule is not a surprise, given that Rodriguez is currently busy shooting the “no one will ever see but a couple of fanboys” movie “Machete” in Austin, Texas, starring Rodriguez’s buddy, the “character actor” Danny Trejo, and has the “Predators” reboot gearing up on the horizon.
That doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for Rodriguez to direct “Nerverackers”, which is too bad. The film would have introduced us to a character named Joe Tezca, who is part of an elite unit dispatched to quell a crime wave in a theoretically perfect future society. It kinda sounds like “Demolition Man”, but with Rodriguez behind the camera, would have looked more like “Demolition Man” on steroids.
Maybe some day, or maybe never. When it comes to Robert Rodriguez, you can never tell.

Dammit, Robert, pick a project and stick to it!
