One “Alien” prequel? Nope. Try two.
That’s what Ridley Scott told the UK’s Independent. He goes on to explain his vision for the prequels:
The film will be really tough, really nasty. It’s the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?
Since the prequels will take place 30 years before the events of the first “Alien” movie, you probably won’t see a whole lot of familiar faces from the franchise. Except, of course, those giant Space Jockeys from the first movie, who will be taking center stage this time around.
Just who or what are they? And what exactly do they look like underneath that huge spacesuit of theirs…?
“Lost” co-creator Damon Lindoff is currently doing a polish on the first prequel’s script, and shooting on the 3D sci-fi film is expected to go into production soon. No word if Scott will shoot the two prequels back to back, as is the fashion nowadays.
