Ready for the Battle of Los Angeles?

Those damn alien invaders. Every time we beat them back, they keep giving that whole Earth invasion thing another try! This time the battleground is Los Angeles, where the sci-fi action movie “Battle: Los Angeles” will take place for Columbia Pictures. The film will follow a squad of Marines as they battle aliens on the streets of Los Angeles following an alien invasion. Wow. Now is that a great premise or is that a great premise? Maybe like a cross between “Black Hawk Down” and “Halo”, maybe? One can only hope.

Columbia has preemptively picked up “Battle: Los Angeles,” a sci-fi spec from scribe Chris Bertolini, for Neal Moritz to produce via his Original Films banner.
The story follows one Marine platoon’s encounter in the battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles.
“I love the idea, and I love the script. I like it all,” Moritz said. “We are going to be in production within six months. What’s attractive to me is that it’s a huge event movie that can be done at a modest scale.”
Bring it on!
