Platinum Studios Still Thinks You Could Use an Atlantis Rising Movie

“Atlantis Rising” is a limited series comic book about Atlantis declaring war on the surface world, and you know, invades. Yeah. It’s going to be pretty damn expensive to make, which is probably why a film version of the comics hasn’t moved since it was announced nearly four years ago. Heck, at one point Len Wiseman was even attached to direct.
Four years later, Platinum Studios is still intent on making the movie, and has teamed up with “300″ producer Mark Canton to get it done. The idea is to create, of course, a movie franchise out of the property. (This is Hollywood; everyone who makes a genre movie declares they’re creating a new movie franchise.)
After more than a thousand years of peaceful co-existence, Atlantis and the surface world are on the brink of war, with the fate of both civilizations hanging in the balance. This issue begins the war that will decide the fate of all humanity and Atlanteans.
