Parallel Lines Features Two Great Looking Sci-Fi Shorts

Back a bit, Adam Berg directed “Carousel”, an amazing piece of film, freeze framing in a 2 minute and 19 second tracking shot a robbery gone horribly wrong. It was epic and was chosen as the Film Grand Prix Winner at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

To followup that success, Mr. Berg decided to ask the fine filmmakers within Ridley Scott Associates to follow in his footsteps for his “Parallel Lines” project. 45 films were made but only five made the cut, including some snappy little sci-fi numbers, one directed by commercial director Carl Erik Rinsch, who is a man that needs to be making features.

In Carl’s short, titled “The Gift” a droid manservant flees from the police. In the other Sci-Fi short, called “Darkroom”, directed by Johnny Hardstaff, we have a dark noir and Blade Runnerish theme. The rest of the films also look pretty nifty. See it all below. It’s coming out April 8th. Thanks Slashfilm.
